Here is an interview with Morgan Freeman

Hi! This is the summary of an interview from BBC Radio 4. The inerviewer, Francine Stock, interviews with Morgan Freeman about voice development training and generally mentioned his background in theatre. The interviewer initiated the interview with the award Morgan Freeman had been nominated and the car accident he passed. Introducing the films of Morgan Freeman such as Gone Baby Gone, Wanted, The Dark Knight, and The Shawshank Redemption 1994, frnacine Stock asked the initial question. The question was whether there is any connection between Morgan Freeman’s background in theatre and his success through TV.
Morgan Freeman answered this question very calmly and confidently. He said ‘‘I’m going to say yes.’’ Then gave some reasons such as theatre actors have to have an education about voice development and some other issues. He said that this education was mainly effective in his career. Freeman continued by saying ‘ Being able to speak and being heard in the back of the theatre are important things for actors. Then he started to speak silently as if he was tired of something, and said ‘’Go on a stage and try to speak like this. The people right down there would probably say: Huh? What did he say?’’ And laughter comes.
In that moment, Francine Stock made us listen a scene from The Shawshank Redemption 1994 then the following question came: What are the important things when you’re starting a film? Is there any way of appropriation of a character on your own? Morgan Freeman replied this question directly as; No, no just read it. Maybe doing something other than just reading. If you put your min to the character, you can connect that voice. It doesn’t sound the same.
Here the interviewer Francine Stock interrupted.
-          That’s something different from the way you trimming a dialogue.
After Morgan Freeman said ‘’Yeah!’’, laughter comes out loud again. He was really warm and sincere. So actually it wasn’t like an interview, it was like a face to face chatting, and another question came. Francine Stock said ‘’ Assume that I will read a story kind of thing. What should I do?
Morgan Freeman started to list the needs: Well, you have to got a microphone right here, you can sort of play. Put on your phones and you also should have a little bit manipulative ability so that the new voices will be much clearer ,n your ears when you talk.
After this answer, interviewer continued by saying; You played so many fantastic voice, I mean you played God twice.
Then Morgan Freeman read a poem and said. What did I recognize that half of my tongue is total my cheeck you know. The last and the biggest laughter comes then.
Francine Stock finished the interview with mentioning the new-released film of Morgan Freeman-Gone Baby Gone.
Well, If I were the interview, I would ask this question first: Have you ever seen any feature of your role character in your own life? And my second question would probably be ‘’ assume that you’re not an actor. Then what would you want to be?’’ Thanks for your interests.

  1. Actually everyone hoped that I would listen the interview of Johnny Depp. So do I. But then I decided to listen Morgan Freeman -another actor whom I like. The most difficult part was exactly recording because I had flu. ıt made me cough all the time during recording. :)
